VERNON, CT. (WFSB) - A man was arrested for reckless driving and racing after a crash on I-84 over the weekend.

State police say that at around 8:48 a.m. Sunday morning, troopers responded to a two car crash in the area of exit 66 on I-84 east in Vernon.

21-year-old Wayne Ferguson called 911 and said that he was involved in the crash while racing another vehicle.

He said that he was traveling at speeds of 110 to 120 miles per hour as he and the other vehicle were using all three lanes to pass traffic. Ferguson did not know the driver of the other vehicle.

He explained that he attempted to pass a vehicle in the center lane and hit another vehicle that was uninvolved in the racing. The vehicle he was racing, described as a black Infiniti by a witness, continued on I-84 west at a high rat
