KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - After the big win over Mississippi State, two Tennessee Volunteers racked up SEC weekly honors for their performance. Junior linebacker Arion Carter was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week and senior defensive end Tyre West was named SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week.

Carter finished the game with a career-best 17 tackles as well as providing the game-winning pass breakup on fourth down at the goal line in overtime. His 17 tackles are good for the most by any FBS player in a single game this season.

Through five games, Carter has 49 tackles, leading the SEC and tied for second most among Power Four players.
