Florida football spent the open week searching for answers to fix its struggling offense.

Whether it works or not remains to be seen. But fourth year coach Billy Napier expressed optimism that the Florida Gators (1-3, 0-1 SEC) will score more points heading into its third straight showdown with a top 10 opponent when it hosts No. 7 Texas (3-1, 0-0 SEC) at The Swamp on Oct. 4 (3:30 p.m., ESPN).

Napier said Florida practiced Sept. 23-25 last week with a focus on 11-on-11, full speed work to help benefit quarterback D.J. Lagway, who has struggled to start the 2025 season. Lagway, who was limited the first three weeks of fall camp with a calf strain, has passed for 690 yards on the season with 5 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
