FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control officers rescued a husky stuck in a tree last week.
The dog, Aurora, chased a squirrel up the tree, the agency says. Once she got up the tree, she “realized how high up she was and could not get down on her own.”
One of the officers was able to loop his catch pole around Aurora’s neck and guide her down.
"Aurora was ecstatic to be back safely on the ground in her mom’s arms," the agency said in a Facebook post.
FWACC thanked those involved in the rescue and said they are proud of the officers for "swiftly handling this unique situation with kindness and patience."
