KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Four felony charges have been filed against a woman prosecutors say is responsible for the death of a 44-year-old man.

Dianna Brown, 45, is accused of killing 44-year-old Robert Hill with a hammer and setting fire to his apartment and his body days later.

Just before 1 a.m. on Sept. 19, 2025, the Kansas City Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment building at Independence and Kensington Avenues.

Crews saw smoke coming from the building and found a second-floor apartment in the southeast corner engulfed in flames. Inside, they found a man’s body on a bed frame with severe burns and what appeared to be head trauma.

“Although the body [was] severely burned, [it] appeared to have undergone an amount of decomposition,” court documents state.
