MANHATTAN — The Mexican Navy training ship Cuauhtémoc is now anchored on the Hudson near the Intrepid , according to ABC News . The ship has been docked in the city undergoing repairs following its tragic crash into the Brooklyn Bridge in May, which killed two of the cadets aboard and injured nearly two dozen more.

Before returning to Mexico, the ship will be open to the public for tours honoring the victims of the crash and sharing its history. Built in Spain in 1981, the vessel has trained 31 generations of Mexican naval officers and recently underwent months of repairs on Staten Island.

The ship will remain at Pier 86 through next week before sailing home.
