Bounce Innovation Hub has selected eight companies for its inaugural Synthe6 Materials Accelerator .

The first cohort for the 12-month accelerator launched Sept. 19, according to a news release from Bounce Innovation Hub and the Greater Akron Chamber , which houses the Polymer Industry Cluster . The selected companies are:

ACE Innovations , founded by Erick Sharp, uses recycled materials to produce asphalt additives that improve durability and adhesion.

Auxilium Health , founded by Isaiah Kaiser, has designed a bio-based wound dressing that heals as it detects and prevents infections.

BioVerde , founded by Simon Upfill-Brown, David Witte and Peter Heifetz, uses methane, including waste methane, to create sustainable raw materials for rubber and plastics.
