Deputies removed dozens of dogs from a Yellowstone County property last week amid suspicions they were suffering from abuse and neglect.
Investigators with the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office are still compiling reports to submit to the county attorney, Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder said, after which it will be on prosecutors to determine whether to press charges. Deputies pulled a total of 42 dogs off the property, who received an assessment from veterinarians and care, if necessary. As the dogs are currently evidence in the case, they are under the care of the sheriff’s office at a local facility.
“We have our own location that we’re keeping them at,” Linder said. “We’re taking care of them ourselves.”
