A blast from the past is coming back this holiday season at Metairie's Lakeside Shopping Center, as a temporary Toys R Us store is set to open soon, the mall announced Monday.

The new 4,500 square-foot shop opens Thursday, Oct. 2, next to Arhaus in the Dillard's wing of the shopping center, where the Victoria's Secret was located during a renovation. The pop-up location will stay open through early 2026.

“This beloved brand has brought joy to families for generations, and we’re excited for our shoppers to experience the fun, nostalgia and holiday magic the Toys R Us Holiday Shop will bring to our community," Lisa Manzella, general manager of Lakeside Shopping Center, said in a statement.
