Cleveland Browns third-string quarterback Shedeur Sanders is being criticized by former NFL head coach Rex Ryan for comments he made Thursday comparing himself favorably to starting quarterbacks around the league.
Sanders was approached by ESPN Cleveland and asked about multiple topics, including how he stays prepared in his current role.
He was asked if he agreed with comments his father, Deion Sanders, made on the “New Heights” podcast about players who claim they learn from sitting on the bench.
“It’s not my place to say,” Sanders said. “It’s not my place to answer, but I know if you see the quarterback play in the league right now, I know I’m capable of doing better than that.”
