LINCOLN, Ala. —

One person is dead after a shooting in Lincoln involving a 3-year-old on Monday.

Police responded to Taryn Trace, where one person died from a gunshot wound.

The shooting may have been accidental involving a child, according to police. The Palmer Place Child Advocacy Center is involved.

The name of the victim is not being released so family can be notified. It is unclear at this time if the victim was the child. WVTM 13 is working to gather more information from police.

The investigation is ongoing.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the family and ask the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time," Lincoln police said in a news release.
