DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- Over the weekend, the final wish of an Army Aviation veteran was fulfilled.

Ronald Arsenault, 67, was a CW3 in the Army and logged over 18,000 flight hours.

After battling cancer for several years, all Ronald wanted to do was go up in the air one more time.

With the help of his family, his hospice team, and Friends of Army Aviation, a nonprofit organization in Ozark, Ronald was able to fly one last time in a Huey, the same type of aircraft he had spent years flying for the Army.

Surrounded by friends and family, Ronald went up Saturday morning, taking about a ten-minute flight around 4,000 feet in the air.

After landing, the Heritage Foundation in Ozark presented Ronald with a medal for his extensive service.
