After almost 20 years, Disney has announced a new “Simpsons” movie set to release in theaters on July 23, 2027.

Details for the plot of the new movie have not been released yet, nor is it known if the plot will be a direct sequel to “The Simpsons Movie,” released in 2007. Advertisement

20th Century Studios shared an image on Instagram of the protagonist of “The Simpsons,” Homer Simpson, grabbing a pink donut covered in sprinkles shaped as the number “2.” The caption also says, “Homer’s coming back for seconds.”

While it is unknown who will be cast in the movie, it can be inferred that Dan Castellaneta will voice Homer Simpson, Julie Kavner will voice Marge, Nancy Cartwright will voice Bart and Yeardley Smith will voice Lisa, as they all voice those characters in the TV show.
