A man wanted for nearly a year in connection with killing his neighbor in front of the man’s child and wife in Stowe last year was arrested Monday in Maryland, authorities said.

Dachary Sampson, 32, is accused of gunning down James Nelson outside his Pleasant Ridge Road home after an argument Aug. 12, 2024.

According to the criminal complaint against Mr. Sampson, he and Mr. Nelson, who were neighbors, had been embroiled in a longtime feud stemming from rumors involving Mr. Nelson’s wife. Witnesses said Mr. Nelson was grilling on his front porch when Mr. Sampson — identified by the nickname “DC” — came past and started an argument.
