EAST RUTHERFORD − John Mara once told me that his legacy with the New York Giants and how he was ultimately perceived as team president is not what makes him nervous.

There is little debate that football remains the family business, and it has been that way for a long time. He doesn't sleep well, and those restless nights stem from Mara's perpetual fear of failure to live up to the legacy set forth by his late father, Wellington, and his late grandfather, Tim, both of whom are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
