Mid-Century Modern , which has drawn favorable comparisons to The Golden Girls , is not continuing after season 1. The sitcom follows three middle-aged gay men who move in together after a tragedy. They also live with Sybil (Linda Lavin), who is the mother of Nathan Lane's character, Bunny.

Along with Mid-Century Modern 's main cast featuring Lavin, Lane, Matt Bomer, and Nathan Lee Graham, the series features well-known guest stars, including Rhea Perlman, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Vanessa Bayer, Billie Lourd, and Judd Hirsch. After debuting on Hulu with 10 episodes in March, reviews have been positive, leading to an 88% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes.
