Veteran offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz will miss the New Orleans Saints' game Sunday against the New York Giants on Sunday because of an ankle injury he suffered against the Buffalo Bills , coach Kellen Moore said.
Moore did not specify how long Ruiz would be sidelined, but Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that medical tests revealed the injury to be a high-ankle sprain that could require a recovery period of four to six weeks, making Ruiz a candidate for injured reserve.
“Cesar likely will be out this week, and we'll kind of take it week by week with him,” Moore said Monday while meeting with reporters at the team's training facility in Metairie.
Ruiz was injured when a pair of players rolled into the back of his legs at the end of a scramble run by quarterback Spencer Rattler
