LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Louisville is the first real home for many refugee families.
See Forward Ministries is working to help them settle in with a fresh start.
"I realized that if I was going to be effective and efficient in serving this community, I needed to... to open up the doors so that other people can come in and help me," said executive director Kevin Uyisenga, See Forward Ministries.
In 2017, Assistant Pastor Kevin Uyisenga opened the doors of the annex of the Buechel United Methodist Church, creating See Forward Ministries.
It serves hundreds of immigrants and refugees each year with programs in language, job training and mentorship.
"It helps to get jobs, to learn English and to be comfortable by yourself, to open up yourself you have somebody to talk to you," said Voluntee
