A power surge left thousands of customers in northeast Fresno without electricity Monday afternoon, according to PG&E’s website.

The unplanned outage was reported at 2:24 p.m. and affected about 3,011 customers, the website says.

Crews were evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections, according to PG&E.

PG&E did not respond with an immediate request for comment.

The outage mainly stretched from the Woodward Park area through Shepherd and Nees avenues.
