LUBBOCK, Texas-- The Lubbock Police Department's Major Crash Unit is investigating the early Monday morning collision in East Lubbock that resulted in one death.
According to the LPD, the initial call came in at 6:13 a.m., reporting a collision with injuries involving a semi-truck and a minivan. When officers arrived, they found Jenna Garcia, 31, deceased at the scene.
Through the initial course of the investigation, it was found that the van Garcia was driving was heading south on Olive Avenue, approaching Slaton Highway, when it entered the intersection and collided with a semi-truck traveling east on Slaton Highway.
The driver of the semi was transported to University Medical Center with minor injuries.
