EAST LANSING ― Michigan State football fans awaiting news on the injury to former Gaylord Blue Devil Brady Pretzlaff just got some bad news.

Pretzlaff suffered an injury on Sept. 13 in MSU's 41-24 victory over Youngstown State and hadn't seen action since, missing the trip to USC on Sept. 20. Now, MSU coach Jonathan Smith has confirmed that the redshirt freshman linebacker will miss the rest of the season.

"Brady Pretzlaff will not be going the rest of this year due to injury," Smith said at a press conference on Sept. 29.

It's a tough blow to the Spartans and the Gaylord native, a three-star recruit in the Class of 2024. Pretzlaff came into the year with high expectations after earning praise from teammates in the offseason . He was serving as the backup middle linebacker to Jordan
