The Covington County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and investigators have made 75 drug-related arrests so far in 2025 and seized significant quantities of narcotics and firearms as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal drugs.
Sheriff Darrell Perkins said seizures this year include about 20 pounds of marijuana, 5 pounds of methamphetamine, and multiple firearms tied to trafficking activity. Seven of the arrests were enhanced because firearms were present during the commission of the alleged drug crimes, officials said.
“Our deputies and investigators work tirelessly to protect the people of Covington County,” Perkins said. “Every pound of drugs seized and every dealer taken off the streets makes our communities safer. This fight is far from over.”
