Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz feels like he has found a home in Toronto.
“You want to feel secure,” said the 31-year-old Stolarz. “You want to feel wanted in the city and be able to have your family there long term.”
The netminder met the media Monday morning to discuss why he signed a four-year, $15-million (U.S.) contract extension on Sunday — the longest and most lucrative of his career.
“At the end of the day, this is where I wanted to be,” said Stolarz. “Two summers ago, this organization showed a lot of faith in me to sign me to a two-year contract. Everything has been first class ... I thought it was a win-win for both sides.”
Stolarz led Monday’s post-practice stretch at centre ice.
