AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Some commissioners believe the camera doesn't lie and they say if they show parks not being used, the city needs to move on.
“Absolutely, because George, what we are doing is wasting money on underutilized parks. The commonsense thing to do, like us from the private sector, if it's not used, get rid of it,” said Mayor Pro-Tem Wayne Guilfoyle. Commissioners are expected to hear from an engineering firm Tuesday on the results of a parks usage study, where 136 cameras captured the action, or lack of it. “That will be what we present tomorrow. Hopefully, based on that meeting, we can probably find a path to move forward,” said Abie Ladson of ISM. But some commissioners feel the city should take it's time moving forward on the parks. “You’re talking about people’s communi
