PEORIA, Ill. – Six people have been charged for their alleged role in interfering with police after a shooting early Sunday morning in downtown Peoria.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says Aggravated Battery charges have been filed against the six, and all will have detention hearings Tuesday.
Prosecutors say the six are Jazzie Alston, Barry Anderson, Trennell Carter, Wesley Collins, Larenshia Harris-Moore, and Ariann Jackson, with additional charges against Anderson and Collins.
Peoria Police responded to Main and Monroe and found a male with a gunshot wound to the chest, with multiple individuals reportedly surrounding and impeding while police attempted to render aid.
