The clock is ticking for NBCUniversal and Google to resolve a dispute over YouTube TV programming.

NBCU and Google, YouTube TV's parent company, must reach a new contractual agreement to keep the former's programming on the streaming service. The current deal expires on Sept. 30, YouTube said .

The two media giants are negotiating rates and terms to keep NBCU programming on YouTube TV with hopes of avoiding any disruptions for users, YouTube head of consumer product communications Jessica Gibby told USA TODAY on Sept. 29.
