LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - For years, Neighborworks Laredo has been assisting the community when it comes to affordable housing.

Monday morning, there was a groundbreaking ceremony event to open the new Steven Gutierrez Education Center.

The new education center will increase the capacity of people attending education classes. Workshops will be held to host other non-profits and their trainings.

The group, Neighborworks, has been a part of this project ever since the vice president, Steven Gutierrez, passed away.
