MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A tennis player from the University of South Alabama has been selected as a candidate to receive the NCAA Woman of the Year award.

According to a release, Delien Kleinhans is one of the Sun Belt Conference's two nominees for the 2025 award.

"The NCAA Woman of the Year Program was established in 1991 and honors the academic achievements, athletic excellence, community service and leadership of graduating female college athletes from all three divisions," the release said.

As a Jaguar, Kleinhans was a four-year letterwinner and went 10-5 in singles and 14-5 in doubles. She went on to be selected for the All-Sun Belt Second Team in doubles.

At the 2025 FISU World University Games in Germany, she did her native country proud as their top player.
