DUBLIN, Ga. — Family and friends gathered at a gravesite this weekend to celebrate what would have been Miyori Ellington 's 25th birthday, more than a year after she was killed in a drive-by shooting on Easter Sunday 2024.
The gathering included grilling, sharing stories and supporting one another as they continue to process the loss of a woman they describe as vibrant and caring.
"She was a friendly person. She was always there for you," said Bridgett Hester, Ellington's aunt. "You could call on her now."
Hester said the family is still healing from the tragedy, but they find strength in staying close.
"Time, it takes time," Hester said. "It's something that you got to get over through time. It's not gonna be easy. But as long as we be there for each other, everybody will make it
