WASHINGTON (WNDU) - We’re less than two days away from a potential government shutdown , as the deadline is 12:01 a.m. Wednesday.

A shutdown appears imminent after little progress was made during a meeting on Monday between President Donald Trump and leaders on Capitol Hill.

Right now, Democrats and Republicans remain at a standoff. This comes after House Republicans narrowly passed a continuing resolution earlier this month, which then failed in the Senate.

Now, the budget is at an impasse.

Among the disagreements, Democratic leaders are advocating for healthcare, while Republicans are pushing to fund the government first.
