The Iowa High School Athletic Association released its first football rankings of the season Monday for the state's four smallest classes.

Rankings for Classes 2A, 1A, A and eight-player are determined by rankings committees made up of former head coaches, media members and IHSAA staff members.

The state will release its first Ratings Percentage Index on Oct. 6 for the three largest classes.
