HOUSTON — Some Amazon Prime members could be due a payout . The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has reached a $2.5 billion settlement with Amazon, accusing the company of enrolling people in Prime without their full consent and then making it difficult for them to cancel. If you signed up during a specific period, you could be owed money.

Out of the $2.5 billion settlement, $1.5 billion is earmarked for Prime customers. Depending on your membership fees, you could receive up to $51.

To be eligible, you must have signed up for Prime between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025.

Refunds will be distributed in two ways:

1. Automatic refunds:

If you signed up on one of the FTC-flagged pages and used Prime very little (less than 3 times), you don’t need to submit a form.
