BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — The Bradford County Sheriff’s Office motto reads “We Care.” Now, that promise is extending to one of their own.

Corporal Bill Goodge, 62, has served with the department for 16 years. On Sept. 18, he was diagnosed with three brain tumors - two in his frontal lobe and one in his brain stem. Each was about the size of a golf ball.

Then on Monday, the sheriff’s office confirmed doctors have found three more tumors. Goodge is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday to remove the largest one and have it tested.

Sheriff Gordon Smith described Goodge as a man of faith, humor, and kindness who has always put others first. “His kindness and his true concern show."
