HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Where people live is a hot-button issue for the city of Huntington.
This issue popped up after a City Council member was accused of moving outside of her district mid-term.
After reviewing the city’s code on residency, two others have come forward and announced their resignation.
Both members served on the Huntington Municipal Parking Board.
The city says both members believed they were eligible to volunteer in the city because both had Huntington addresses.
However, while they have Huntington addresses, both are technically outside city limits.
“Those members saw the kerfuffle that was happening and said, ‘Oop, I don’t actually meet the residency requirements,” said Tia Rumbaugh Huntington City Councilwoman for District 3.
