The biggest office at the Fulton Athletics Center now has a new tenant.

New Mexico State has named Tulsa deputy athletic director Joe Fields as its 24th athletic director on Monday, according to an official news release . Fields has been at Tulsa since August 2024 and began his athletics administrative career at Texas A&M as an associate athletic director in 2017.

“Aggie fans are going to love what Joe brings to the table,” said NMSU Chief of Staff Justin Bannister, chair of the university's AD search committee. “He’s been a student-athlete and an administrator, so he has unique insight into the full experience of college athletics.”
