A section of Old Frederick Road in northern Frederick County could be closed for weeks after one of the county's historic covered bridges was hit and damaged late Friday or early Saturday morning.

The road will be closed between New Cut Road and Md. 77, with a signed detour in place while repairs are made to the Loys Station covered bridge, according to a press release from the Frederick County government.
