SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - While it still feels warm outside, winter is just a couple of months away. As the temperatures drop, residents across Massachusetts face rising heating costs.
National Grid is proposing a slight decrease in gas delivery rates, but an increase in gas prices. Eversource took it a step further, saying they plan to raise delivery charges, potentially making your bills at least 13% more expensive.
Now, Governor Maura Healey is urging against these hikes. In a press conference Monday, Healey said: “There’s a DPU process, and I’ve said to the DPU that they need to, very closely, scrutinize any proposed rate hikes, so that will go through that regulatory process with DPU, and my hope is that they are laser-focused on costs driving down bills for people.”
Healey
