The B.C. government wants to keep more than $37,000 in cash — plus silver and cryptocurrency wallets — that was inside a safe abandoned 13 months ago in an east Vancouver park.

Also inside the mystery safe were almost nine kilograms of ecstasy, methamphetamine, LSD, magic mushrooms and cutting agents, plus ledgers known as “score sheets” that drug traffickers use.

The person who found the safe called Vancouver police on Sept. 1, 2024, after spotting it in the middle of Falaise Park near Rupert Street and Grandview Highway.
