Australian football star Mary Fowler has made history, stepping away from the pitch and onto the catwalk at Paris Fashion Week in a groundbreaking debut on the L’Oreal Paris runway.

Overnight, the 22-year-old became the first professional footballer to walk in the high-profile runway event.

Fowler joined a star-studded lineup of global icons, including Kendall Jenner and Eva Longoria in front of the historic Hotel de Ville in Paris.

The show was watched by nearly 3000 people, and even though the athlete is used to fronting crowds as a key member of Australia’s national team, she admitted it was still thrilling.

“Stepping onto the runway was an exhilarating experience and different from anything I’ve experienced on the football pitch,” Fowler said.
