OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha firefighters responded to a house fire in northwest Omaha Monday evening.

According to Omaha Fire Department Battalion Chief James Combs, firefighters arrived at the scene near 96th Street and Ellison Avenue at about 7:25 p.m. to find a fire in a bedroom.

One child with burns was taken to a local hospital.

The damage from the fire was limited to the bedroom because the child shut the door behind them, per OFD.

The fire was brought under control in about five minutes. The investigation is ongoing.
