GLOBE-MIAMI, AZ (AZFamily) — Officials in Globe-Miami gave an update Monday afternoon after deadly flash floods tore through the region, killing at least three people and leaving widespread damage to the rural Gila County community.

“We’ve never seen anything like it in our community. We feel the pain of our business people who have lost their livelihoods, their investments, and it hurts us all,” Globe Mayor Al Gameros said.

He offered his condolences to those whose lives were lost and thanked the countless first responders who stepped in to help in a moment of crisis.

“I assure you that this council, our administration, this city, is with you, and we will work tirelessly to expedite the state and federal funds we need to recover and move forward,” Gameros said.
