ROCKVILLE, Md. — Two firefighters are facing charges after police say they used a hose to dump gallons of water onto a baseball field where a game had caused balls to hit cars parked at the fire station.

Silver Spring firefighters apologized in July after the Thunderbolts, an amateur baseball team, were forced to cancel their game after Fire Station 16 directed a hose at the field, flooding a portion of the Montgomery Blair Baseball field.

On Monday, two firefighters were charged in connection with the water retaliation.

According to charging documents, Montgomery County Fire Department Station 16 Captain Chris Reilly admitted to Park Police that he had released water onto the baseball field for one minute.
