Chennai: A social media post by Adhav Arjuna, a joint general secretary of actor-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), calling for a “youth revolution” has ignited a political firestorm in Tamil Nadu, compounding the tensions following the Karur stampede that claimed 41 lives. The now-deleted post, made on X, drew immediate and severe condemnation for allegedly inciting violence during a period of public mourning and official investigation.

In the controversial post, Arjuna had stated, “If the police have become the servants of the ruling class like this, the only way to restore order is a youth revolution.” He drew parallels to uprisings in Sri Lanka and Nepal, adding, “so too will there be a youth uprising here.
