LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Today, the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office released its weekly audit reports, and it featured the 2024 audit of the Calcasieu Parish School Board.
The report found three schools that possibly mishandled money, totaling over $20,000. They include Sulphur High School, LaGrange High School, and Kaufman Elementary.
The audit says all three cases have been turned over to law enforcement, although a spokesperson from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office told 7News that Sulphur has been rejected by the district attorney’s office.
7News is expecting to hear from school board officials about the audit findings tomorrow.
