LUBBOCK, Texas — A quiet southwest Lubbock neighborhood is shaken after a deadly shooting outside an Airbnb rental that left one person dead, and two others injured early Sunday morning.

Danny Jackson has lived near 76th Street and Chicago Avenue for more than 30 years and said he’s never felt unsafe in his neighborhood, until now.

“We don’t worry about anything. You know, people walk all the time, their dogs and just even in the evenings and stuff. Nobody’s worried about it,” Jackson said.

That changed when he woke up to the sound of gunfire coming from just a few houses down.

“I heard this noise and our border collie, she kind of perked up,” Jackson said. “And then I heard again like boom, boom, boom, boom.”

Neighbors said the shots came from a two-story home rented out on Airbnb. O
