YouTube agreed to settle a multi-million dollar lawsuit from President Trump after suspending his account in 2021, following the January 6 riots, THR reports. At the time, Trump claimed the suspension violated the First Amendment, while YouTube explained that Trump had allegedly violated the website’s policy by inciting violence. Trump eventually regained access to his accounts in 2023, ahead of the following presidential election. The Alphabet-owned platform will reportedly pay $24.5 million to the president, with $22 million going to help fund the reconstruction of the White House ballroom.
