Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Monday referred to his US counterpart, Donald Trump, as an ‘accomplice to genocide’ in the Gaza Strip and insisted that the army disobey him, while intensifying his criticism of the Republican hours after some of his ministers renounced their visas.

The US State Department announced on Friday the withdrawal of Petro's visa hours after the president gave a speech on the streets of New York after joining a demonstration against Israel's military actions in the Gaza Strip.

Petro, who during his stay in New York, proposed the creation of an international army to defend the Palestinian people.
