The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is starting another round of hiring this October for new sheriff’s deputies.

According to the department, a written exam is slated to take place at 9 a.m. Oct. 25 at the John Marshall High School football field.

Applicants are asked to also be prepared to take a physical agility test on the same day as the written test.

Applications for employment must be filled out first and can be picked up at the sheriff’s department. The application packet must be filled out and turned in by 4 p.m. Oct. 17. Applications must also be filled out online at www.personnel.wv.gov.

On testing day, a photo ID is required.

The starting pay for an entry level deputy is $60,000 per year.
