Journalist Pablo Torre rattled Kawhi Leonard’s peace earlier this month by uncovering an endorsement controversy. Reports surfaced that Leonard had signed a questionable deal with the financial firm Aspiration. The deal allegedly offered him a “no-show” job.
This arrangement sparked suspicions that the Clippers may have tried to channel extra payments to their star forward outside of NBA salary cap rules. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer firmly dismissed any wrongdoing.
But Torre wasn’t done. In his latest episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out, he revealed what he said were authentic screenshots of private text exchanges between two senior Aspiration executives.
“This is a screenshot of a text exchange between two senior Aspiration executives from December 21, 2021, that I have now confirmed to
