Two members of an international drugs gang have been hauled before a judge.
Paul Ruane used a stolen identity to front a bogus business, and Andrew Reilly repeatedly travelled overseas to help package and move huge amounts of drugs into the country. Both admitted conspiring to fraudulently evade a prohibition by bringing class B drugs into the country.
They worked for Paul Green, dubbed the ‘Big Fella’, who headed up the movement of up to £7 billion worth of drugs from Europe to the British mainland, a court heard.
Over a two-and-a-half-year period, a sophisticated transport route brought cocaine, heroin and cannabis into the country in lorries, hidden in cover loads of fruit and vegetables.
